Traditionally NordicFuzzCon supports a different animal related charity every year and this year is no exception however this time we are going for a group of animals that is often overlooked: We are proud to present our 2026 charity: Råtthjälpen .
Founded back in 2007, this wonderful charity now runs a network of foster homes through Sweden where they focus on taking care of wayward domestic rats and other rodents such as mice, degu, chinchillas, gerbils, dwarf- and gold hamsters.
After some turbulent years following the global pandemic, the amount of animals that needed help and a forever home grew exponentially, generating many challenges for Råtthjälpen.
It is here where us at NordicFuzzCon can come in to help! With our help these volunteers will be able to support existing and new foster homes with high quality starter kits, but also with continuous support offering both food and equipment.
Råtthjälpen works together with various veterinarians throughout Sweden to neuter rats with hormonal issues and genetic defects that would affect the population negatively, regular health checkups, and help with sick and injured animals to make sure that these domestic rodents remain happy and healthy.
During the convention you will also be able to ask questions about this wonderful charity during our special meet & greet with some of the people behind Råtthjälpen. They will also be walking around the venues and attending various events!
The NordicFuzzCon charity team, under the watchful eye of Mausie and Iris, has various events raising money for our charity like our yearly charity auction for example.
If you want to help, other than offering monetary donations, you are also able to donate items using this form , ranging from toys, art, commission slots and much more. Your creativity is encouraged! We will use these for our charity stand, lottery as well as in the charity auction.
Fursuiters are welcome to help too! You can drop by our donation booth for a special vest and a collection box so people can recognise you while you collect for Råtthjälpen!
